Outreach - Community Archaeology

As part of its charitable objective to enhance public benefit, the Society is wholly committed to archaeological outreach by raising awareness about archaeology and creating more accessible learning opportunitie, both for younger audiences and adults.

Membership

The Society welcomes everyone with an interest in archaeology and history. Membership offers additional benefits including full access to the Society's publications, lectures, library, research resources and priority access to excavations and guided visits.

These groups specialise in certain periods or areas and offer their own activities. All are welcome. We have activities to suit everyone interested in archaeology or history.

Resources

The Society holds a range of resources suitable for desktop research and archaeological fieldwork including an extensive library and archaeological equipment for Society-approved excavations.

The Society has the best specialist archaeological library in the county, and houses an extensive collection of books, journals, reports and maps documenting archaeology in Surrey and beyond.

Publications

The Society publishes several regular journals as well as books about Surrey archaeology and history. Our regular publications include an annual book featuring local research, a quarterly journal and a regular e-newsletter.
